Innsbruck Central Station is around 25 km from the hotel. From there, regular bus connections (line 590 b) travel to the Stubaital.

The bus stop “Neustift Fernau” is directly in front of the hotel.

Is the hotel open at night?
No, the hotel entrance is locked from 11:00 pm. In this case, we kindly ask you to take your room key with you.
From what time is check-in possible?
Check-in is possible from 2:00 pm.
What happens if you arrive in the evening?
If you plan to arrive after 7:00 pm, please let us know. We will leave your key for you or provide you with the access code.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is possible until 11:00 am. You are welcome to leave your luggage at the hotel after check-out.
Are free parking spaces available at the hotel?
Yes, there is plenty of free parking right at the hotel.
Is there a garage at the hotel?
No, we have outdoor parking spaces right next to the building.
Are there electric vehicle charging stations at the hotel?
Yes, the hotel offers two charging stations for electric vehicles (available at an additional charge).
Is there a transfer from Innsbruck to the hotel?
Yes, we would be happy to organise a shuttle transfer for you at an additional charge. Please contact us in advance.

Yes, there is a secure storage room for your bicycles.
Are there facilities for charging e-bikes?
Yes, charging facilities for e-bikes are available in the bike storage room.
Is there a ski storage room with a ski boot dryer?
Yes, there is a ski storage room with a ski boot dryer in the hotel. You can obtain the access code at reception.
What types of rooms are available at Alpenhotel Fernau?
Do the rooms, suites, apartments and the holiday house have a balcony or terrace?
Yes, all rooms have a balcony, most with magnificent views of the Stubai mountains.
Are there rooms with connecting doors?
Yes, the hotel has special family rooms with connecting doors. Please contact us directly regarding availability.
Are family rooms available at the hotel?
Yes, the hotel has family rooms, apartments for families, or a holiday house for up to 9 people.
Are the rooms, suites, apartments and the holiday house air-conditioned?
No, due to our high altitude and the healthy mountain air, there is no air conditioning at Alpenhotel Fernau.
Are dogs or pets allowed in the hotel?
Yes, dogs are allowed on request and for a fee of €18.00 per day, excluding food. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the dining room and wellness area.
Is the hotel also suitable for families with children?
Is the hotel suitable for group bookings?
Yes, the hotel is suitable for groups of 10 or more people. For every 20 full-paying guests, one free place is included.
Is there Wi-Fi in the rooms and throughout the hotel?
Yes, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and in all rooms.
Are there accessible rooms available?
Yes, some of our rooms are accessible and suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Please contact us for details regarding individual suitability.

What time is breakfast served?
At what times is the afternoon cake buffet served?
The small afternoon cake buffet in the fireplace lounge is available from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Are there any special themed evenings at the hotel?
Yes, at Alpenhotel Fernau we offer a variety of themed evenings, including a traditional farmers’ buffet in winter, a barbecue evening on the terrace in summer, and a gala dinner with aperitif every Sunday.
Is it possible to have breakfast on the day of arrival?
Yes, for a small additional charge you can enjoy our breakfast on your arrival day.
Can external guests eat in the restaurant?
Are there vegetarian, vegan, or allergy-friendly menus available?
Yes, vegan and allergy-friendly menus are available upon request. Vegetarian options are available daily at dinner. Please inform us in advance about any allergies and intolerances.
Is it possible to book the hotel with breakfast only?
Yes, our prices include half board. If you wish to dine out on an evening despite having booked half board, we kindly ask you to inform us during breakfast.
Is there a bar in the hotel?

Yes, we would be happy to prepare a packed lunch for you for hiking or skiing days, as well as for your departure, for a small additional charge.

The sauna area is a place of peace and quiet and is accessible to guests aged 16 and over.
Is there an indoor pool?
No, Alpenhotel Fernau does not have an indoor pool, but it does have a heated outdoor pool (in summer).
Does the hotel have a heated outdoor pool?
Are bathrobes, slippers and sauna towels provided in the room?
Yes, bathrobes and sauna towels are provided in your room, and smaller towels are available in the wellness area. Slippers or pool shoes are to be brought by guests.
Are massage and beauty treatments available?
Is a day spa open to external guests?
No, the wellness area is exclusively available to our hotel guests.
Does the hotel provide baby cots?
Yes, we provide baby cots free of charge.
Are bed guards available to borrow at the hotel?
Yes, you are welcome to borrow a bed rail from reception.
Are children’s high chairs available in the restaurant?
Yes, we are happy to provide high chairs free of charge.

Yes, there are discounts for children. Children’s prices vary depending on age, and children up to 3 years old stay free of charge in their parents’ room.
What leisure activities are available for children in the Stubaital?
For children, there are many leisure activities to explore on their own in the Stubaital, as well as the BIG Family Stubai programme: The Mieders summer toboggan run, the Baumhausweg, the Mammut adventure playground, the nature adventure trail, and the Klaus Äuele water playground, as well as toboggan runs and ice-skating rinks in winter.
Are there child-friendly dishes available in the restaurant?
Yes, the restaurant has a separate children’s menu.
Does the hotel have a playground or playroom?
Yes, the hotel offers a children’s playroom and a spacious outdoor playground.

Yes, during the holiday periods, BIG Family Stubai offers external childcare programmes in which our guests can participate.
Is there a children’s pool at the hotel?
No, there is no separate children’s pool. We kindly ask you not to leave your children unattended in the outdoor pool.
Can pushchairs be borrowed from the hotel?
Yes, pushchairs or child carriers can be borrowed directly from reception.
Do guests receive a free guest card on arrival?
What does the Stubai Super Card include?
The Stubai Super Card includes the following services:
- One round trip per day on all Stubai mountain lifts (Stubai Glacier, Serles lifts, Schlick 2000, Galtberg lift in Schlick 2000, Elfer lifts)
- One ride on the Mieders summer toboggan run per week
- Free travel on public transport (buses between Mutterberg and Innsbruck, Stubaital railway Fulpmes-Innsbruck)
- Free admission to indoor and outdoor swimming pools (two 3-hour entries per week to the StuBay adventure pool, free admission to the Mieders swimming pool)
- Numerous other discounts (Fulpmes cinema, Air-Parc at StuBay, Bergisel lift station in Innsbruck, and much more)
Is there a bicycle rental service at the hotel?
Yes, mountain bikes are available to borrow free of charge. Detailed information is available at reception. E-bikes can be rented directly in the town from various sports shops.

Is cross-country skiing possible near the hotel?
Can you buy ski passes directly at the hotel?
Is there a ski bus directly at the hotel?
What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is based on the Austrian Hotel Regulations or individual rates. The following cancellation policy applies to private guests:
- Up to 1 month before arrival: no cancellation fees
- 29 to 15 days before arrival: 50% of the booked arrangement
- 14 days to 1 week before arrival: 70% of the booked arrangement
- in the last week before arrival: 90% of the booked arrangement
- in case of no-show: 100% of the booked arrangement
The following cancellation policy applies to group bookings:
- up to 3 months before arrival: no cancellation fees
- 3 months to 1 month before arrival: 40% of the booked arrangement
- 1 month to 1 week before arrival: 70% of the booked arrangement
- in the last week before arrival: 90% of the booked arrangement
- in case of no-show: 100% of the booked arrangement
Please note that different cancellation policies apply for the Christmas and New Year period.
How much is the local tax?
The local tourist tax is €4.80 per person per day for guests aged 16 and over.
What payment methods are accepted?
Cash, VISA, Eurocard, Mastercard, ATM/EC card.
Does the hotel offer travel cancellation insurance?
No, the hotel does not offer travel cancellation insurance, but we recommend taking out travel insurance.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, with a confirmed booking you will receive a confirmation with a request for a deposit (preferably by credit card).
Can arrangements, cakes or flowers be organised for special occasions?
Are anti-allergy pillows or non-feather bedding available?
Yes, the hotel offers anti-allergy pillows and non-feather bedding. Please contact us in advance.
Is there a laundry service at the hotel?
Yes, for an extra charge we will gladly wash and dry your hiking or sports clothing.
Is there an ironing facility?
No, we do not offer an ironing service at Alpenhotel Fernau.
